Team Bangladesh scored only 289 in the first innings

In Christchurch, Bangladesh started the 2nd and the last test match against New Zealand. After this game, Bangladesh cricket team will return home. After the first day, Bangladesh scored only 289 runs. Soumya Sarkar finally got a chance in the test squad and played very well. He scored 86 runs, and this is his best score in his test career. Soumya didn’t play that well in the entire ODI and T20 series, but in this last test match, he played a major role for his team.

After Tamim Iqbal’s early departure, Soumya and Mahmudullah Riyad tried quite a bit to build a partnership, but Mahmudullah couldn’t stay for a long time. He got out at 19 runs from 24 balls. Shakib Al Hasan and Soumya Sarkar made that happen. After Mahmudullah’s wicket, Shakib, his dedication to his team and worked hard to stay in the field and to lead from the front. Their partnership broke when team’s score was only 165. Soumya got out by Trent Boult.

Before getting out, he scored most valuable 86 runs from only 104 balls. He made 44 runs by sending the ball outside of the boundary. Shakib didn’t give up. He was trying his best to increase the score. Sabbir Rahman came to play after Soumya’s wicket. He showed his poor performance once again today and made his coach very disappointed.

Shakib Al Hasan got out for 59 runs, but his patient helped Bangladesh go ahead. Sohan and Najmul’s 56 runs partnership were the only the main thing to say about at the late evening before the ending of the first day. Three important players of Bangladesh are not playing in this last test match because of their injury.

They are already in on their way to home. By the end of the day, it can say that Bangladesh needed some more runs in the first innings to create an extra pressure to Black Caps.
